This project was designed to bring strangers together in public spaces. It invites players to step into a physical play-space, and welcome other museum-goers in, very likely strangers, to join the fun. Players collaborate together in a novel interactive puzzle game using their own bodies to control the game.

Prospective players only have to step into the play area to participate. No extra controllers required! Only through teamwork can you make your way through this strange city… and feel the satisfaction of shared achievement.

A three-player puzzle game using body-tracking camera. Each player controls an “element” of the game world - water, wind, and mechanical contraptions - and must guide an adventurer’s boat through a lonely drowned city.

Players control each element by walking back and forth within the play-space (e.g. walking forward moves the water higher, walking backwards moves the water lower). Currently the full experience takes 20 to 30 minutes to play but players can easily step out of the experience at key checkpoints. Game requires a 3x3 physical area to play, large screen (at least 40”), with space to setup motion camera (ZED 2i) and tripod.
